Abstract

Downy mildew (DM) of sunflower is a devastating disease caused by Plasmopara halstedii (Farl.) Berl. and de Toni. In Argentina, the prevalence and incidence of DM has increased in the last decade. The present study: i) compiles information from private and public organisms to assess the race spectrum of DM and its evolution during the last three decades; ii) monitors the effectiveness of Pl genes and iii) surveys the sensitivity levels of P. halstediiisolates to active ingredients (a.i) as metalaxyl (MET) and oxathiapiprolin (OXA).
