This chapter concludes the book. I examine whether I have merely made an observation about African Communitarianism or have posed a serious challenge to the rationality of it. I conclude that because I hold African Communitarianism and anti-natalism are consistent with each other that it is not really up to me how to interpret the consequences of the connection I make in this book. Rather, it is up to the African Communitarian to decide whether they will accept that their view entails anti-natalism. If they don’t, then they will need to respond to the arguments I offer in Chap. 4. I conclude by pointing to some promising future directions in the form of more interaction between specific ethical theories, including non-Western theories, and the arguments for anti-natalism.

The ethics of body modification: Transhumanism in Japan

This chapter deals with the ethical issues relevant to body modification with cyborg technologies such as wearables and implantables and other aspects of transhumanism, taking Japanese culture into consideration. To clarify such issues, interviews with experts in various fields were conducted, and the results of these interviews are analysed, taking transhumanist ideals and Japanese culture regarding body modification (including piercing, tattooing and organ transplants) into account. As a result, 44 research agenda points were elicited, which fall into eight categories. In addition, British and Spanish perspectives on body modification are discussed to relativise and clarify the Japanese sociocultural circumstances surrounding it.

Furthermore, the commentary demonstrates that using sentiment-analysis tools (e.g., Syuzhet, Bing, and AFFIN) is appropriate and efficient in analyzing sport’s social media data. Thus, a rigorous application of contemporary innovative techniques can significantly shape the future of sport management research. However, researchers must exercise caution when considering the source and preprocessing of the data prior to applying advanced analytical techniques.
