Human Nature and Kind according to Sophia Perennis – A Naturalistic Cosmological Perspective

Abstract and Figures

The awareness of the heart is that which accesses to direct knowledge and to which addresses the language of symbols, and in essence it is the conscience of animal life, fluctuating in the eternal present following natural rhythms. As for the lunar brain, its reflective nature is the source of the inherent dualism to human thought, and language with which the latter evolves in concert.

Human Nature and Kind according to Sophia Perennis!
A Naturalistic Cosmological Perspective
The human specificity within the natural order is the upright station symbol of the freedom to
explore the natural world and wander around, but also of the pronounced division demonstrated
by human nature, according to which humans manifest on Earth virtues of the world « from
above."» The appearance of this neocortex is only a consequence of the progressive bipedalism,
consubstantial to this first trait which marks the essence of humanity's distinction from the rest of
earthlings.
This is the basis for a correct vision of human nature, as implemented within the natural order and
the cosmic order. One has to add the perennial doctrine of the three ‘centres’ Heart, head and
lower belly corresponding respectively to Sun, Moon and Earth. The Heart features at the center
of the organism and irrigates it whole through the blood flow, as the Sun features at the center of
the Cosmos and influxes it with light. The Moon, shaping an equal-sized disk as seen from the
Earth, reflects the light of the solar star just like the brain allows for reflexive thought and the
subjectivity of self-knowledge.
In other terms, the consciousness of the heart is that which accesses to direct knowledge and to
which addresses the language of symbols, and in essence it is the consciousness of animal life,
fluctuating in the eternal present following natural rhythms. As for the lunar brain , its reflective

nature is the source of the inherent dualism to human thought, and language with which the latter
evolves in concert.
Let us see for a moment how all of this is acknowledged by current science. First, it is now
ordinary to claim that the heart and bowels contain neurons as per the brain . Secondly, science

could consider that bipedalism and its vertical standing render the cerebro-spinal liquid which
bathes the human brain more sensitive to the (gravitational) influence of the moon. But to this day
this still stems from speculation, and it belongs to science to confirm its discoveries and evolution
to deliver a vision aligned with the eternal wisdom.
However it becomes more dicult to determine human nature in relation to its 'below the belt',
the sexual center. The Earth is the fertile soil which evolves between the pure lunar and solar
principle, and we who trample it underfoot are appropriated by either of the male and female
principles. Those two principal polarities constitute, from the point of view of the human condition,
the cosmic dyad and the natural dyad, respectively. At this ultimate level it seems that,
contrariwise to the former ones, an unconquerable division condemns Man to an 'Other' which he
cannot really ever know and vice-versa : from the religious point of view the sexual center
embodies the original wound of the primordial nature, separated from its completeness.
The human plurality spins through the ethnical meshing that shows through the surface in diverse
races, which should be the subject of another article , as well as its evolution following the cosmic

cycles (lunar cycle, solar cycle, and the zodiacal procession). For humanity, life is a mirror, through
which we each may see ourselves darkly. Human is this potent animal who hopes to embrace the
divine nature of the soul, celestial gift towards which he never ceases to stand back up. And if one
may consider that Nature be the dream of Man, then in return Man is the consecration of its
contradiction, the nightmare of Nature’s own suering that it has a horror of.
Confer regarding this the following etymologies : reason coming from ratio meaning to count, to

estimate, to measure ; like the month, measuring unit of one lunar cycle, comes from mens ; itself
originating "mental" and "moon", and parent to mentior : to lie.
These are the three nervous systems : central nervous system (CNS, the brain), intracardiac

nervous system (IcNS, the heart), enteric nervous system (ENS, the bowels)
