Abstract

Enhancing Digital Teaching and Learning (EDTL) is a three-year project funded by the Higher Education Authority involving seven universities of the Irish Universities Association (IUA). Commencing in 2019 the aim was to enhance the digital educational experiences of Irish university students through enabling the mainstreamed and integrated use of digital technologies across the teaching and learning process. In November 2021, the open course “Getting Started with Personal & Professional Digital Capacity” was launched, in collaboration with the National Forum for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning. The course ran from 8 November to 17 December 2021 with more than 90 participants from across Irish Further and Higher Education. By early January, 46 participant badges had been awarded, and 12 people had completed the additional 5 hours of facilitator training. In the early months of 2022, the EDTL project team reviewed the course based on formal and informal participant feedback and facilitator experiences. The course has been revised, based on the review, and a second national rollout will start on 23 May 2022. In this poster, we will present information about the first rollout, analyse the feedback received, describe the review process and plans for the second national rollout.
