... [Show full abstract] this paper presents the optimization theory and algorithm based on the distance-method and area-method for the design of the line and slope fine-tuning. In the end, the author puts the theory and algorithm into practice while developing the system of metro line and slope fine-tuning which includes several modules to be programmed, such as data editing, plane designing vertical section designing and charts output modules. This theory has been applied into the software and we achieve a good result.
