Abstract

Lactic acid is an organic compound produced naturally by the human body itself, constituting at the same time a derivative and a fuel for physical activity. Improving the lactic acid threshold to avoid the increase in blood of hydrogen ion is the general objective of this work. Through an instrumental case study and taking as an object of study the runner (sprinter in 100 and 200 m) Gerson Chala analyzed his training with both type 1 and type 2 muscle fibers to improve the lactic acid threshold. Using Hyperbaric Oxygenation increases by 22 times the concentration of oxygen in the plasma, and the saturation of hemoglobin to 100%, since erythrocytes have the same way of producing lactates and pyruvates by means of glycolysis on the basis of glucose to form two ATP. In the case experienced the threshold was improved avoiding a higher production than the elimination of lactic acid, and with it the symptoms of lactic acidosis, pain and burning like muscular burning, muscle cramps, nausea and vomiting.
