Recently, the invasive alien species Zelus renardii Kolenati, 1857 (Hemiptera: Reduviidae) was reported
for the first time from the Canary Islands, based on one adult specimen found in the south of Tenerife
in September 2021 (BAENA & SANTOS, 2021).
Now, the presence of the species on the Canary Islands can be confirmed: On 09-02-2022, an
adult specimen of Z. renardii was found and photographed by Camilla Lund Kristensen in Playa de las
Américas in the south of Tenerife (Fig. 1). Several photographs of the specimen were uploaded to the
online database iNaturalist (see here).

Based on the collected specimen and available photographs, we provide first records of the invasive assassin bug spe-cies Zelus (Diplodacus) renardii Kolenati, 1857 from Croatia and Montenegro. We also report a case of accidental introduction of a larva of Z. renardii to the Czech Republic. These records document further spreading of this species native in America in Medi-terranean Europe and possible ways of its spreading to the new areas.
