Abstract
This article aims to study the evolution of the design period of development and changes in the form of
the public transport symbol of the London Underground in the United Kingdom. Since the first
establishment from 1863 to present and 158 years of the service, there are now 270 stations and 11 lines.
In addition to the transit system, which is a model for many countries, the researcher was interested in
studying the peculiarities of the London Underground mass transit system from the perspective of the
identity, which creates the phenomenon of unity having become an essential identity of London, England.
In other words, it is an underground badge with a cleverly developed style and insightful concept. In
conclusion, the logo employs the most negligible but most beneficial design principles, including the idea
of subtle color schemes in the choice of harmonious fonts and underground emblems. It has come to
represent the entire transport system in the UK. It has expanded its coverage to include services, products,
and related products and has been used as a medium for much publicity in England. This is an icon of
efficient public transport, an interesting design work, and an excellent case study reflecting the long history
of the London Underground. This case study could be used of further study other graphic design systems
and emblems.
