In recent years, flying cars have been actively researched both in Japan and abroad. However, little research has been carried out on the social acceptance of flying vehicles. Social problems often arise when neglecting the social acceptance. It is expected that problems will arise in the future when “Aerial Industrial Revolution” occurs due to industrial use of drones and commercialization of flying cars. In this study, the social acceptance is evaluated by two approaches. One is real-time evaluation by Kansei-analyzer and the other is social psychological evaluation by questionnaire. But the applicability of Kansei-analyzer to the evaluation has not been fully addressed yet. Then this study conducts two kinds of experiments to clarify the applicability of Kansei-analyzer. This paper describes the results and consideration about the experiments to evaluate stress on noise.

A novel method of finding accessory nerve during head and neck surgery

Results The mean age of 59.2 ± 17.07 years (18–90 years) of the 80 patients, 54 were men and 26 were women. There was a positive correlation between the distance between the NAM-SAN and the sternocleidomastoid (Scm) muscle thickness(r = 0.242, p = 0.03). There was a positive correlation between the distance between the NAM-SAN and the distance between the mastoid apex and the clavicle midline (r = 0.235, p = 0.036). There was a statistically significant negative correlation between the distance between the NAM-SAN and age (r = − 0.324 p = 0.003). There was a positive correlation between the trapezius-SAN and the distance between the mandibula angulus-clavicle midline (r = -0.243 p = 0.03). Conclusion The spinal accessory nerve must be sought for higher than the estimated point In patients which with more scm thickness. It should be considered that as the preoperatively measured mastoid apex-clavicle distance increases, the distance between the NAM and the SAN increases. It should be taken into consideration that the course of the SAN in the posterior triangle will be longer in patients with longer necks. It should be noted that as age increases, the distance between the SAN and NAM decreases.

To address this gap, the current research delves into the relationship between individuals' feelings of financial ... [Show full abstract] constraint and inferences of social status, by introducing power distance belief (PDB) as a key factor. Further, we examine how subjective social status, established through the interaction between financial constraints and PDB, influences preferences for purchase types in the realm of consumer decision‐making. Among individuals with high PDB, feelings of financial constraint increase the relative preferences for material over experiential purchases, while this effect is attenuated among those with low PDB. The results of three experiments support our hypotheses and identify the underlying mechanism. Our findings thus offer an initial answer as to how feelings of financial constraint shape consumers' status‐related decisions and behaviors, highlighting the critical role of PDB in this dynamic.

Dual Directional Expansion of Classical Cepheids in the Small Magellanic Cloud Revealed by Gaia Data...

We present the three-dimensional kinematics of classical Cepheids (CCs) in the Small Magellanic Cloud (SMC) using Gaia DR3 data. By crossmatching the CCs obtained from the fourth phase of the Optical Gravitational Lensing Experiment with Gaia DR3, we obtain distances and proper motions (PMs) for 4236 CCs. Among them, radial velocities (RVs) are available for 91 stars, measured by Gaia, enabling ... [Show full abstract] the construction of an accurate relationship between distance and RV. Furthermore, we calculate the internal PMs of the CCs, providing the internal dynamics of the SMC while removing the distance projection effects. The CCs exhibit a northeast–southwest distance gradient, with internal PMs pointing northeast for nearer stars and southwest for more distant stars, indicating a northeast–southwest elongation. The RVs of the CCs show a northwest–southeast gradient, consistent with RVs of other stellar populations, and suggesting that the SMC’s northwest–southeast elongation results from interactions with the Large Magellanic Cloud. The distances and RVs of the CCs are nearly uncorrelated, implying that the two elongations arise from distinct causes.

Prediction of radio-quiet gamma-ray pulsar distances using the Fundamental Plane relation

The fundamental plane (FP) relation connects gamma-ray luminosity to intrinsic pulsar properties, offering the potential to estimate distances for radio-quiet (RQ) gamma-ray pulsars, where direct measurements are often unavailable. The Fermi Third Pulsar Catalog presents spectral data for 294 gamma-ray pulsars, including 72 RQ pulsars, of which only 9 have known distances. This study investigates ... [Show full abstract] the FP relation's potential to predict distances for RQ gamma-ray pulsars using machine learning (ML) approaches. Ordinary least-squares regression was employed alongside ML methods, including random forest and support vector regression, to predict RQ gamma-ray pulsar distances. To ensure robustness, the analysis considered spectral cutoff significance and outlier data. Results confirm that the FP relation is valid only for pulsars exhibiting significant gamma-ray cutoffs, with FP exponents closely matching theoretical expectations. It was shown that gamma-ray emission origins significantly favor the curvature radiation regime over the synchrotron regime at the 4.2 sigma level. The distances for 62 RQ pulsars, for which no traditional measurements exist, are predicted for the first time. The luminosity and spatial distributions of the considered RQ pulsar population match known pulsar distributions. Predictions for RQ pulsars with known distances are consistent with measured data. This study provides a proof of principle that the FP relation, combined with ML methods, is a promising tool for distance estimation in RQ gamma-ray pulsars, using gamma-ray emission directly for the first time in pulsar distance estimates. Future improvements can be achieved with larger data sets, precise spectral cutoff determinations, and corrections for key factors like the beaming factor.
