Challenges and opportunities with environmental pollutants in the regime of UN sustainable development goals.

The three pillars of sustainable development—economic, social, and environmental—are all facing challenges today. At the same time that more than 1 billion people continue to live in extreme povert y and income inequality has increased both within and between many nations, depletion of resources and production patterns have resulted in significant economic and social costs and may put the future of life on Earth in jeopardy. Global action is needed to fulfill the justifiable desire for further economic and social advancement, which calls for growth and employment while simultaneously stepping up environmental protection, in order to achieve sustainable development. The most vulnerable and underprivileged populations' needs must be given special attention, and sustainable development must be inclusive. Ambitious, action-focused, collaborative strategies must also be flexible enough to accommodate various stages of development. They may include, among other things, large price corrections, encouraging the preservation of natural endowments, lessening inequality, and increasing economic governance. They will need to fundamentally alter the patterns of consumption and production. Given the facts and circumstances, it has been suggested that certain actions be taken to promote awareness through publications about the opportunities and challenges associated with environmental pollutants in the terrestrial and aquatic environment, as well as their sustainable and alternate uses, treatments, and disposals, in order to meet the UN Sustainable Development Goals in the upcoming years. Additionally, interested researchers are encouraged to collaborate and contribute to many,  Research and review publications addressed by the UN SDGs  Develop solutions for issues relating to the environment that arise frequently.  Educate young people about potential obstacles to and remedies for environmental pollution  Make policy suggestions, opinions, and viewpoints to the various regulatory agencies.  Spread awareness about "GREEN" activities in both our personal and professional lives. ... Ecosystem function zoning and benefit analysis of wetlands of Hongze Lake

Here, we review the literature on consumer impacts on coastal wetland ecosystems and highlight areas where additional studies are sorely needed. It is our hope that identifying the current gaps in our knowledge will provide additional impetus for the study of community and ecosystem ecology within these globally important ecosystems.

Approaches to Valuing the hidden hydrological services of wetland ecosystems

Hydrological research in the Hadejia-Nguru wetlands in northern Nigeria suggests that the major role of the wet season inundation of the wetlands is in recharging the underlying aquifers. Whereas the direct benefits provided by the wetlands, such as floodplain agriculture, fishing and forestry, have previously been assessed, this paper synthesizes the results of two approaches to capture the value of indirect benefits derived from the role of the wetlands in replenishing and maintaining groundwater resources within the wetland area.
