Introduction
Solid waste Means solid and semi-solid matter generated
from households, business, industries, institutions, street
sweeping, construction, agriculture, land quarry…etc
This study is carried out in Addis Ababa cities, ten sub-
cities, to reveal the logistic activities, identifying core
problems and to suggest appropriate solutions for future
improvement.
The main purpose of this study is to understand the whole
logistic system flow of Solid Waste Management.

Background
The capital city of Ethiopia is Addis Ababa located
almost at the center of the country. According to the
Central Statistical Agency, the population of the city is
3.5 million residents in 2018.
Addis Ababa City Government has set solid waste
management as one of its top priority.

realized by many informal operators.
Waste pickers in dumpsite : around 660 informal
operators are working in the dumpsite.
Now the dry waste management system make the small
enterprise to sort the recyclable and compost materials
with in the woreda and transported to the collector
