The use of hydrophobicity parameters to predict the bitter taste of L-amino acids is discussed. It is concluded that no single hydrophobicity scale can be used to explain the complete range of L-amino acid behavior.

Influence of computerized panel training on contextual effects

Computerized panel training with graphic feedback showed significant feedback effects for magnitude estimation judgments of sweet and sour taste intensities. Context effects still existed but were reduced after training with or without feedback for both line scale and magnitude estimation scaling methods.
