In this paper, I will analyse the recent revival of Argentinean tango as an example of a transnational cultural space. Based on biographical research with tango dancers both within and outside Argentina, I show how these dancers participate locally in what is also a global dance culture and what it means for their lives, aspirations, and sense of themselves in the world around them. A case will be made for rethinking the concept of transnational biography with an eye toward understanding the ways all of our lives are already and continue to be deeply interconnected with the lives of others across the globe.
