Rassian Group Wagner
PMC or Kremlin’s geopolitical tool
eloued.dz-salim@univ-Dahmani
Abstract:
This research paper attempts to shed light on the role that the Russian Wagner Group plays in
conflict areas, in light of the growing talk of complete control and direction from the authorities in
Russia to achieve the Kremlin’s geopolitical goals.
This paper has been relying on the analytical approach, through the knowing of creation of the
group and its relationship with Russian President "Putin", monitoring the operations and places of
deployment of it and comparing its role and tasks with the geopolitical trends of Russian foreign
policy in these areas.
We have concluded that the ambiguity surrounding the origins, management and quality of the
operations carried out by the group make it as a Geopolitical tool of Russian foreign policy than a
traditional PMCs.
Keywords: Wagner; Geopolitics; PMCs; Conflict; Putin.
