This article examines how students feel about using Quipper School as an e-learning platform to teach English and discusses its benefits and drawbacks. Using the cluster sampling approach and concentrating on the survey study method, this study used two sample classes with a total of fifty-three participants. Twenty questionnaires were sent out to students to gauge their opinions of Quipper School. When exploring the benefits and drawbacks of implementing Quipper School, which has been done through student interviews, in-depth information seems to be as significant as continuous responses. The results showed that pupils prefer to utilize IT and are at ease using it for educational purposes. More importantly, Quipper School's benefits encourage interaction between students and teachers both within and outside of the classroom. Even though the teacher isn't in the room, the pupils still receive instruction or have a chance to review the content. It uses a revolutionary learning approach to improve students' learning experiences. Quipper school also has drawbacks when used in the educational process, for instance, erratic internet connections, restricted computer resources that facilitate study at Quipper School, additionally, there was no spoken material that could be used in a prep school. Today, employing a quipper school to teach English might be beneficial for studying and teaching. Although the teacher is not physically present to give direct instruction, students still receive a lesson, and by studying the information whenever and wherever they are, they can increase their success in learning English.

This paper presents findings from an action research project that investigated the application of Multiple Intelligences (MI) theory in classrooms and schools. It shows how MI theory was used in the project as a basis for suggestions to generate classroom practices; how participating teachers evaluated the project; and how teachers responded to the professional experience. Teachers reported successful student outcomes including more interest and motivation, better recall and deeper understanding, higher attainment, improved self-esteem, and more fun and enjoyable classroom experiences. For teachers themselves, the project was a challenge. They needed more planning time, more persistence, more collegiality, and more management support. All involved in the project found the experiment worthwhile, exciting, and a stimulus for radical change in their pedagogic practice and thinking. Teachers renamed and extended existing practices to include MI approaches and this led to a methodsshift and, ultimately, to indications of a mind-shift. It was apparent in the Irish MI Project that the premising of curriculum content and delivery, state certificate assessment, school organisational practices, and attitudes on a narrow, untenable and unfair construct of intelligence can result in educational exclusion and disadvantage for many students. Thus, it is suggested that the agency of intelligence in educational failure merits attention.

This study assessed the role different kinds of secondary tasks play for researching the modality effect of cognitive load theory. Ninety-six university students worked with a computer-based training program for approximately 13 min and had to fulfill an additional secondary task. In a 2 × 2 factorial design, modality of information presentation (within factor) and design of secondary task (between factor) were varied. Students of both experimental groups learned with visual-only and audiovisual information presentation. The secondary task consisted of monitoring an object either displayed spatially contiguous (monitoring the screen background color, N = 46) or spatially non-contiguous (monitoring a letter color in the upper part of the screen, N = 50). Reaction times on this secondary task were used to measure cognitive load. Results show that the modality effect only appears with the spatially non-contiguous task but not with the spatially contiguous task. We interpret this effect as due to only partial utilization of working memory capacity by the combination of primary task and spatially contiguous secondary task. The results highlight the importance of an appropriate secondary task design when investigating the modality effect but also not to overgeneralize multimedia design guidelines.

One of the very important process in education is a learning process. The success of the learning process is necessary to motivate the student to be able to encourage their learning activities. STAD cooperative learning is a learning model that trains students to work together in a small group and help each other in solving problems, thus the gain mastery of subject matter understanding. STAD cooperative learning model is not much different from the usual lesson by the teacher. Teachers still contribute in the learning process so that not just released and expected students still easy to adaptable. The purpose of this study was to find out the relationship between motivation and student learning activities with the implementation of STAD. This study used quasi-experimental research method. The population of this study was all first grade students in Model Islamic State Junior High School (MTsN) of Banda Aceh amounting to 39 students chosen from 11 classrooms. Samples were collected by using random sampling technique. Instruments of this study were cognitive learning outcomes test, student motivation questionnaire, and student learning activity observation sheet. Data were analyzed by multiple correlation test at significant level of 0.05. The results of the analysis of research data shows the value of R = 0.56 with P 0.00 (< 0.05) then Ho is rejected and Ha accepted. It can be concluded that there was a significant relationship on student motivation and learning activity toward student cognitive learning outcomes by the implementation of STAD. In order to improve the cognitive learning outcomes, motivation and learning activities optimally it is expected that biology teachers implemented STAD than can actively involve the students in learning process.

This study investigated the current state of college students' perceptions toward mobile learning in higher education. Mobile learning is a new form of learning utilizing the unique capabilities of mobile devices. Although mobile devices are ubiquitous on college campuses, student readiness for mobile learning has yet to be fully explored in the United States. The paper describes a conceptual model, based on the theory of planned behavior (TPB), which explains how college students' beliefs influence their intention to adopt mobile devices in their coursework. Structural equation modeling was used to analyze self-report data from 177 college students. The findings showed that the TPB explained college students' acceptance of m-learning reasonably well. More specifically, attitude, subjective norm, and behavioral control positively influenced their intention to adopt mobile learning. The results provide valuable implications for ways to increase college students' acceptance of mobile learning.
