Care and Education from the Perspective of ‘Ciechociński Resort’ (1907-1910)

Abstract

The article aims to present the scope of the content concerning the care and upbringing of children and adolescents presented in the Polish-language balneological magazine published in the Polish Kingdom, entitled ‘Zdrój Ciechociński’ (1907-1910). The article brought up the pedagogical issues, not only concerning the health education, but relating to the physical and health safety of children and adolescents staying in the spa, through the organization of the proper educating games, selection of the moral entertainment, educational issues, shaping the physical condition with the appropriate gymnastic exercises or taking care of the proper summer recreation for children from the poor families. On the pages of ‘Zdrój Ciechociński’ it was written about the need to ensure the child’s safety, making parents aware that they should try to provide the child with proper care and safe conditions.
