Studies with biodegradable starch-based polymers have recently demonstrated that these materials have a range of properties, which make them suitable for use in several cosmetical applications, including tattoo industry. The study aims to suggest formulas of starch-based pigments, prove their viability within a living organism, and to develop the methodology of the tattoo removal. The sustainability of the starch derivatives in the skin was proven by a series of in vivo experiments. The formulas of the pigment were developed in a way of scientific induction concerning about toxicity of the developed pigments. The probable synthetic pathways of these pigments were also shown. Besides, starch exhibited its biodegradability and an ability to form films beneath the skin; hence, in the study were developed the methods of stabilizing the starch within a human using coating techniques. In addition, a complete composition of the tattoo ink was suggested. Developed the non-invasive methodology of the tattoo removal of the proposed inks that guarantees full tattoo removal with neither side effects nor cosmetic injuries.
