This paper presents a Corporate Environmental Leadership Model (CELM) in suit to the Sri Lankan business context, which has derived from the Environmental Leadership Model (ELM) originally developed by Flannery and May (1994). The CELM constitutes of 4 pillars: (1)moral norms and values for environmental responsibility that takes into account the economic view, openness to change, and self-transcendence; (2) environmental attitudes of the CEO and other members in the top management; (3) stakeholder influences; and (4) perceived behavioural control of the firm by technological, financial, and regulatory constraints. The paper investigates the applicability of the derived model to a Sri Lankan large scale industrial entity by using the case study research method.
