Abstract

Self-confidence is basically a competence which allows individuals to persist positive yet sensible perspectives on themselves and their situations. Self-confident people have trust on their capabilities, have an overall control when it comes to their lives, sensibly speaking, they will have the option to do whatever they desire, plan, and want to anticipate. As per available literature 55%-63% of youths are at low degree of emotional intelligence which brings about low confidence.Emotional intelligence is defined as how an individual is able to manage, know and further use the emotions in a positive way so that challenges can be overcome and effective communication can take place along with empathizing with others. The research was conducted on a sample of 157 individuals and the results demonstrated that emotional intelligence and self-confidence are very important part of individuals' satisfaction and happiness. Further the obtained value of r 0.727 reflects there exists positive relationship when it comes between self-confidence and emotional intelligence. The research is very relevant as it reflects that self-confidence and emotional intelligence are important perimeters of personal and professional success.

Abstract

As we adventure into the new age of humans, the word feeling has developed another
significance or meaning. The word emotion relates to "markedly stimulated or unsettled in
feeling or sensibilities (Goleman,1998). An individual is supposed to be called good at emotional
intelligence when he feels appropriate feeling in a legitimate circumstance and express it in a
legitimate amount.(Law KS et. al, 2004)
Over the time emotional intelligence has become intriguing subject of brain science also, and a
lot of studies have been carried out for emotional intelligence. In 1990 Mayer and Salovey
presented emotional intelligence concept and as per them emotional intelligence alludes
psychological capacity that people haverelated with feelings so that thoughts can be
improvedalong with advancing scholarly furthermore, enthusiastic development. Numerous

opinion of the therapist’s emotions can sometimes lead individual to be against the
society.Psychologists who are very appropriate in understanding the emotions have a different
opinion and they always wish to understand the root cause and advancement of emotions. Now
with the research in this area the understanding of scientists in relation to emotions have been
changed from where they accepted emotions can be very exasperating to the point where they
now feel and accept that emotions always occur because of a certain reason and they both are
interrelated or associated and almost every part that Scientists had moved from the stage where
they accepted that feelings are troublesome, to a stage where they saw that feeling and reason are
interconnected and that the greater part of theevents, discernment or thinking goes before
sentiments. Emotions and Information known to be different and separated areashave now
composed in the new field "Comprehension and influence" (Mayer, 2001)
The ability to understand others as well as one’s own assumptions and emotions, identify the
difference between them and use this information to control individual thinking and action.

Sample Size: Total Sample size is 157.
Sample Design: Non- Probability Convenience Sampling.
Sample Area: India
Data Analysis
Descriptive and inferential data analysis was done using SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social
Sciences). The analysis of the collected data was done using Mean and Pearson Product
Correlation Coefficient.
To evaluate the level of Self-confidence and Emotional Intelligence in the
participantsDescriptive Statistics was applied. Whilst to determine what relationship exists
between Emotional Intelligence and Self-ConfidenceWhilst Pearson Correlation was applied.

Thus, according to the analysis the Self-Confidence of sample population is 4.07392 i.e. the

To check the level of EI, the above table was interpreted on the basis of score chart was given in
the standardized questionnaire.

Interpretation
The data was also analysed to check what relationship exists between Self-Confidence and EI.
From obtained value of r 0.727 significant at< 0.01. reflects strong relationship between Self-
Confidence and Emotional Intelligence.
Discussion & Conclusion
The research was done so as to examine the Self-Confidence, Emotional Intelligence levelsand
their relationship in the sample population.
The first objective of the research was to evaluate Self-Confidence level in the sample
population.It was confirmed that Self-Confidence level in the population is high which
indicates that the people have trust on themselves and that they are aware about the
strengths and weaknesses by having a positive attitude and sense of acceptance towards
their own capabilities.
The second objective evaluates Emotional Intelligence level in consideration of all the 5
competencies. The study demonstrated that people are high on Emotional awareness and
management. The self-motivation, empathy and social skills levels were also confirmed
to be high which reflectsthat people are cognizant, empathetic and mindful if it’s down to
their values, goals, choices etc.
The third objectivewas to evaluate what relationship exists between Self-Confidence and
Emotional Intelligence considering the sample population.Also, the relationship between
the Self-Confidence and EI was identified through SPSS. The analysis illustrated r =
0.727, significant on < 0.01showed a strong, significant and linear relationshipwhen it
comes between the Self-Confidence and Emotional Intelligence.
Thus, by the results obtained it can be easily concluded that self-confidence is a demeanor to
Emotional Intelligence.Hence, the training should be providedon self-confidence and emotional
skills at every step which will be helpful to give a positive progress in life and will definitely
affect the future employment, and social performance in the workplace.

Emotional intelligence (EI) plays a critical role in English learning, as it fosters a better understanding of language nuances, enhances learner motivation, and improves communication skills, thereby leading to a more effective and enriching learning experience. However, the impact of EI on English language acquisition among Vietnamese learners remains underexplored creating a gap in educational studies. This study aimed to investigate the Vietnamese students' perspectives of the impacts of EI on their second language acquisition (SLA). A mixed-methods approach was employed combining quantitative data collected through a questionnaire and qualitative data obtained from semi-structured interviews. The study involved 105 English-major students selected through convenience sampling. The findings revealed a positive correlation between EI and SLA, with characteristics such as motivation , self-confidence, interpersonal skills, a goal-oriented mindset, and emotional openness significantly impacting language learning outcomes. These findings have implications for language learning theory, pedagogy, and curriculum development, emphasizing the need to address learners' emotional well-being and incorporate EI skills within language learning contexts. By integrating these elements, educators can create a conducive learning environment that enhances both linguistic and emotional competencies.

This study adopted a qualitative research design of a literature review genre to explore the theoretical underpinnings of the relationship between managerial assertiveness and self-confidence, and how they enhance employee loyalty and productivity. The review of the existing body of knowledge confirmed the link between managerial assertiveness, self-confidence, and their positive influence on employee loyalty and productivity. Assertive managers, who exhibit a strong sense of self-assurance and conviction in their decision-making, were found to inspire higher levels of trust, commitment, and engagement among their subordinates. This, in turn, fosters a sense of loyalty and motivation, leading to enhanced employee performance and productivity. Furthermore, the reviewed studies suggest that managerial self-confidence serves as a crucial catalyst in cultivating a positive work environment, where employees feel empowered, valued, and encouraged to contribute to the organization's success. Building on these findings, the study proposed strategies to promote managerial assertiveness and self-confidence, including targeted training programs, leadership development initiatives, and the creation of supportive organizational cultures. Theoretical implications and recommendations were provided to guide future research and inform managerial practices aimed at enhancing these crucial leadership attributes. Lastly, the study acknowledged the limitations of the literature review approach and suggested avenues for future empirical investigations to validate and expand the theoretical insights. The findings of this study provide a solid foundation for organizations seeking to optimize their human capital and achieve sustainable competitive advantage through the strategic development of assertive and self-confident managers.

In recent years, emotional quotient (EQ) and intelligence quotient (IQ) have gained recognition as key determinants of individuals' success and have significantly influenced supervisory practices. High EQ and IQ scores are associated with superior academic and personal performance. However, most studies have intensive on the impact of EQ and IQ on academic achievement separately, neglecting their combined influence. This research examines how EQ and IQ contribute to the development of confidence and positive attitudes in students. Data from 355 engineering students across various colleges in Hyderabad, Telangana, were collected and analyzed using convenience random sampling techniques and structural equation modelling. The results discovered that both EQ and IQ significantly influence students' confidence and positive attitudes, with EQ having a greater impact than IQ. Specifically, EQ and IQ had significant levels of influence on positive attitudes and confidence in career development at 0.575*** and 0.488**, respectively.

This study was intended to determine the effect of the intensity of using the Tik Tok application with self-confidence in students at the State University of Semarang. This research uses correlational quantitative method. The sampling technique used is simple random sampling with a population of 1170 people, the number of samples is 265 people. The data analysis technique used a simple linear regression test. The results of this study indicate that there is a significant positive effect of the intensity of using the tik tok application on self-confidence. Based on the results of this study, it is recommended that lecturers hold activities by utilizing social media such as Tik Tok, Instagram, Facebook and others which are currently being used by students. As a student, self-confidence is needed both in terms of lectures and in terms of society. So it can be concluded that the intensity of using the tik tok application greatly affects the self-confidence of FIP UNNES students, so if the intensity of using the tik tok application on students is high, the confidence in students will be high as well.

Design/methodology/approach – The research was carried out by general survey model, which is one of the quantitative research methods. Research data were obtained through face-to-face questionnaires with 205 university students selected by convenience sampling method. The data obtained in the study were evaluated with the Partial Least Squares - Structural Equation Model (PLSSEM) analysis program SmartPLS3. Findings – According to the findings, anxiety and curiosity, which are the sub-dimensions of career adaptability, and internal self-confidence have a significant and positive effect on taking personal growth initiative, while external self-confidence, control and confidence have no positive and significant effect on taking individual development initiative. Discussion – It is understood that individuals with high internal self-confidence, curiosity and future anxiety have higher levels of taking personal growth initiative. Accordingly, efforts should be made to make individuals more self-confident and more adaptable with the needs of their careers to develop the individual growth initiative for the future and career of the person. It is hypothesized that expectations of personal efficacy determine whether coping behavior will be initiated, how much effort will be expended, and how long it will be sustained in the face of obstacles and aversive experiences. Persistence in activities that are subjectively threatening but in fact relatively safe produces, through experiences of mastery, further enhancement of self-efficacy and corresponding reductions in defensive behavior. In the proposed model, expectations of personal efficacy are derived from 4 principal sources of information: performance accomplishments, vicarious experience, verbal persuasion, and physiological states. Factors influencing the cognitive processing of efficacy information arise from enactive, vicarious, exhortative, and emotive sources. The differential power of diverse therapeutic procedures is analyzed in terms of the postulated cognitive mechanism of operation. Findings are reported from microanalyses of enactive, vicarious, and emotive modes of treatment that support the hypothesized relationship between perceived self-efficacy and behavioral changes. The topic of self-efficacy is part of a broad literature which has developed around the issues of human agency, mastery, and control. Its more delimited focus is on perceptions and assessments of self with regard to competence, effectiveness, and causal agency. Self-efficacy has become an important variable within social psychological research because of its association with various favorable consequences, especially in the areas of physical and mental health. It is also quite congruent with the Western emphasis on such values as mastery, self-reliance, and achievement. This review examines the nature of self-efficacy and related terms, reviews the research literature on the development of self-efficacy and how social structure and group processes affect this development, considers changes of self-efficacy over the life course, and reviews the consequences of self-efficacy for individual functioning and for social change. The focus of the review is on the social psychological literature within sociology, psychology, and to some extent political science.

This paper explores young adolescents' experience of basic daily tasks: personal maintenance (e.g., grooming and eating) and household maintenance (e.g., chores and errands). Quantity of time, companionship, and subjective states in these activities were examined during one week in the lives of 401 5th-9th graders with the Experience Sampling Method (Csikszentmihalyi and Larson, 1987). Our findings show that these tasks are particularly subject to sex typing. Girls engaged in grooming more often than boys, and this time increased in the higher grades, while boys showed no age effects. Boys did more outside chores while girls did more indoor chores. Girls were also more likely to carry out household tasks with family while boys did more chores alone. An examination of subjective states during household maintenance revealed that older girls reported a greater sense of motivation and choice than younger girls, but boys' experience did not differ. Experience of maintenance as socialization for adult activities is discussed.
