Study of twelve archaeological objects conserved in the Academy of Sciences of Lisbon: a Neolithic ax, two axes of the Late Bronze Age, two small Luso‑Roman bronze hinds, a roman ara, two roman lamps, one of them false, two false bronze signacula and two false pre‑Roman idols. These objects, mostly unpublished, document the first cabinets of antiquities in Portugal at the beginning of antiquarianism during the Enlightenment, and the creation of antique cabinets linked to the libraries created at the end of the 18th century by Manuel do Cenáculo. Therefore, they illustrate the history of the Academia das Ciências de Lisboa and the beginning of Archeology and Museology in Portugal. Keywords: Academia das Ciencias de Lisboa. Historiography. Museology. Late Bronze Age. Roman epigraphy. Ataecina. Roman archeology. Enlightenment. Manuel do Cenáculo.
