Abstract

The article aims to draw attention to the important role of data security in the functioning of online platforms. This phenomenon is an issue that is critically important to the growing popularity of these tools, which are now increasingly used for tourism purposes. The main focus of the article is on platforms related to nautical tourism. The first part of the article presents basic information about the use of internet platforms and their significance for the tourism market. Next, an analysis of the content of exemplary platforms used by sailors was presented. The last part of the article identifies data that should be particularly protected by platform operators, as well as the geopolitical implications that may result from neglecting this issue. The study involves the analysis of literature sources and websites. Trust is becoming a key instrument in any virtual transaction. Therefore, the protection of trust should be a central subject in the online tourism sector. A systematic understanding of how cybersecurity contributes to trust and competitiveness is still lacking. It is hoped that this research will contribute to a deeper understanding of the phenomenon.

Digitization in the domain of nautical tourism has stimulated the implementation of innovative applications, serving as integral support mechanisms for service users. This transformation has also given rise to specified smart business ecosystems, ensuring the joint generation of value for all stake-holders. As a result, innovative technologies have not only transformed the overall nautical experience but also led to reduced operating costs and the development of effective business practices, thus becoming a strategic priority for nautical companies. Based on the analysis of a wide body of literature, this paper aims to underscore the significance of information technology and interactive smart systems in nautical tourism. Through the implementation of digital and smart technologies, it becomes feasible to manage multiple segments, including actors, devices and security systems. This operationalization of ship management activities aims to enhance the experience for guests and crew in continuation.
... This incorporation serves to strengthen the general competitive profile of tourist destinations that develop in port contexts. Moreover, these profiles should be established according to the importance of the cybersecurity in the tourism market (Magliulo 2016, Panai 2018) and its geographical influence (Panai et al. 2019). ...

The paper addresses the use of integrated IT systems in integrated transport management, and in particular the use of the Port Community System in communication between an integrated transport operator and individual carriers or loaders in the organisation and execution of specific transport functions where a large part of cargo operations are performed in seaports. Its objective is to present the opportunities offered by the PCS for the integration of actors in integrated cargo transport in the context of ensuring safe and efficient transport services. The paper presents the key aspects of the ongoing transport integration process, and most importantly, the role of a port as an integrator of organisation and execution of processes necessary for cargo handling. The capabilities and functionality of the PCS system are analysed, and the relational networks offered by the system are presented. Additionally, emphasis is placed on the urgent need to fully implement a single harmonised IT system across Polish seaports.
