Abstract

Research findings highlight the need to complement scientific literature on Entrepreneurship with studies about the individuals drawn to Spin-Off companies as employees. These individuals are known as Joiners. Scientific literature on organizational learning suggests that individuals, other than the founders in entrepreneurial teams gain knowledge, practices and understanding necessary to create and run their own businesses. In this process, those individuals become skilled and continue to be involved in entrepreneurial activities. As such, joiners can decide to engage into the creation of their own company. The purpose of this paper is therefore to provide a theoretical framework on the transition of joiners of spin-offs into entrepreneurs and to develop an agenda for future research and practice. https://journals.aom.org/doi/abs/10.5465/amgblproc.mexico.2020.0266.abs
