Generalized results from the work on developing elements of a comprehensive system for monitoring technical state of the equipment of cogeneration turbines are presented. The parameters of the electrohydraulic turbine control system are considered together with a number of problems concerned with assessing the state of condensers and delivery water heaters.

An edited volume of papers about expert systems; computer systems which encapsulate specialist knowledge about a particular domain of expertise and which is capable of making intelligent decisions within that domain. The book is structured into four main sections. The first deals with expert systems in general, the computer architecture of such fifth generation approaches, and evaluating them. The second concerns aspects of inference, with fuzzy reasoning the main focus. Section three covers knowledge engineering; PROLOG, microprocesser expert systems. Section 4 discusses learning by machines, adaptive strategies, automating knowledge acquisition and the knowledge industry in general. The 13 individual papers all have their own bibliographies, and are supplemented by a general bibliography at the end.-M.Blakemore
