A SCIENTIFIC STUDY ON EFFICACY OF YOGIC PACKAGE ON RESTING PULSE RATE AMONG OBESE SCHOOL STUDENTS

Abstract

The purpose of the present study was to investigate the efficacy of yogic package on resting pulse rate among obese school students. To achieve the purpose of the study thirty school students were selected from Karaikudi, Tamilnadu, India during the year 2019. The subject's age ranges from 14 to 17 years. The selected students were divided into two equal groups consists of 15 obese men students each namely experimental group and control group. The experimental group underwent a yogic package programme for six weeks. The control group was not taking part in any training during the course of the study. Resting Pulse Rate was taken as criterion variable in this study. The selected subjects were tested on resting pulse rate was measured through radial artery pulse monitor method. Pre-test was taken before the training period and post-test was measured immediately after the six week training period. Statistical technique 't' ratio was used to analyse the means of the pre-test and post test data of experimental group and control group. The results revealed that there was a significant difference found on the criterion variable. The difference is found due to yogic package given to the experimental group on resting pulse rate when compared to control group.

Students are not equipped with the cognitive skills to face today's problems in the real world. Previous research showed that Indonesian elementary students lack critical thinking skills. This research aims to analyze the effect of the Javanese comics project to improve critical thinking and interpersonal skills in fifth-grade students. This study was conducted using a quasi-experimental design with 60 elementary school students in a pre-and post-test group for six weeks. Data was collected using a questionnaire. The data were analyzed using the N-gain score, Mann-Whitney U test, and Spearman rho correlation at the significance level of 0.05. The result revealed that 60 students improved their critical thinking and interpersonal communication skills. Thus, teachers could use Javanese comics project-based learning to increase students' critical thinking and communicative performance skills, as well as interpersonal communication skills in the innovative education of the 21st century. The purpose of the present study was to investigate the effect of therapeutic yoga asanas on body mass index among class I obese men. To achieve the purpose of the study thirty class I obese were selected from Thanjavur District, Tamilnadu, India during the year 2020. The subject's age ranges from 30 to 40years. The selected subjects were divided into two equal groups consists of 15 subjects each namely experimental group and control group. The purpose of the present study was to investigate the efficacy of concurrent strength training with yogasana practices on power parameter of women hockey players. To achieve the purpose of the study thirty women hockey players were selected from Karaikudi, Tamilnadu, India during the year 2019. The subject's age ranges from 18 to 25 years. The selected subjects were divided into two equal groups consists of 15 women players each namely experimental group and control group. The experimental group underwent combined concurrent strength training and yogasana practices programme for six weeks. The control group was not taking part in any training during the course of the study. Leg explosive power was taken as criterion variable in this study. The selected subjects were tested on leg explosive power was measured through standing broad jump. Pre-test was taken before the training period and post-test was measured immediately after the six week training period. Statistical technique't' ratio was used to analyse the means of the pre-test and post test data of experimental group and control group. The results revealed that there was a significant difference found on the criterion variable. The purpose of the present study was to investigate the efficacy of combination of walking practices and yogic practices on low density lipoprotein (LDL) among middle aged women. To achieve the purpose of the study thirty school students were selected from Karaikudi, Tamilnadu, India during the year 2019. The subject's age ranges from 35 to 45 years. The selected subjects were divided into two equal groups consists of 15 middle aged women each namely experimental group and control group. The experimental group underwent a combination of walking practice and yogic practices programme for six weeks. The control group was not taking part in any training during the course of the study. Low density lipoprotein was taken as criterion variable in this study. The selected subjects were tested on low density lipoprotein was measured through heparin precipitation method. The purpose of the present study was to investigate the effect of dirga pranayama on triglycerides among middle aged women. To achieve the purpose of the study thirty middle aged women were selected from Bangalore, Karnataka, India during the year 2020. The subject's age ranges from 35 to 45 years. To achieve the purpose of the study thirty cricket players were selected from Karaikudi, Tamilnadu, India during the year 2019. The subject's age ranges from 21 to 30 years. The purpose of the present study was to investigate the effect of yoga asanas on flexibility among taekwondo players. Thirty (30) male taekwondo players who participated in the state-level competition were selected randomly from Tamil Nadu, India. The subject’s age ranges from 18 to 25 years. The selected subjects were divided into two equal groups consisting of 15 subjects-the experimental and control groups. The experimental group underwent yoga asanas for ten weeks. The control group did not take part in any training during the course of the study. Flexibility was taken as a criterion variable in this study. The selected subjects were tested on flexibility and were measured through sit and reach tests. A pre-test was taken before the training period, and a post-test was measured immediately after the ten-week training period. Statistical technique t-ratio was used to analyze the means of the pre-test and post-test data of the experimental and control groups. The results revealed a significant difference found in the criterion variable. The difference is found due to combined yoga asanas given to the experimental group on flexibility when compared to the control group.

The purpose of the present study was to investigate the effect of a scientic study on low and medium level of intense circuit training on selected physiological parameter among elite female athletes. To achieve the purpose of the study thirty female athletes were selected from Erode District, Tamilnadu, India during the year 2021. The subject’s age ranges from 21 to 25 years. The selected subjects were divided into two equal groups consists of 15 subjects each namely experimental group and control group. The experimental group underwent a combined low and medium level of intensity circuit training programme for eight weeks. The control group was not taking part in any training during the course of the study. Resting heart rate was taken as criterion variable in this study. The selected subjects were tested on resting heart rate was measured through heart rate monitor. Pre-test was taken before the training period and post- test was measured immediately after the eight week training period. Statistical technique‘t’ ratio was used to analyse the means of the pre-test and post test data of experimental group and control group. The results revealed that there was a signicant difference found on the criterion variable. The difference is found due to combined low and medium level of intensity circuit training given to the experimental group on heart rate when compared to control group.

Every move makes in yoga is done very smoothly and calmly. Yoga enhances the muscles, tendons, and ligaments move through a full range of motion decreasing the chances of getting injured and making bones healthy. Yoga is for everyone and every sport. Yoga toils on strength, flexibility, balance, coordination, agility, endurance, core strength and overall strength. Athletes today include yoga on their training schedule as it works on the overall body.

The selected subjects were tested on concentration ability was measured through concentration cognitive assessment (CAB-AT) questionnaire. Pre-test was taken before the training period and post-test was measured immediately after the six week training period. Statistical technique't' ratio was used to analyse the means of the pre-test and post test data of experimental group and control group. The results revealed that there was a significant difference found on the criterion variable. The difference is found due to mindfulness mediation given to the experimental group on concentration ability when compared to control group.

The purpose of the present study was to investigate the effect of elastic resistance training on muscular strength among elite college level cricket players. To achieve the purpose of the study thirty college level male cricket players were selected from Alagappa University, Karaikudi, Tamilnadu, India during the year 2021. The subject's age ranges from 18 to 25 years. The selected subjects were divided into two equal groups consists of 15 subjects each namely experimental group and control group. The experimental group underwent elastic resistance training for six weeks. The control group was not taking part in any training during the course of the study. To achieve the purpose of the study thirty men hockey players were selected from affiliated College in Bharathidasan University, Tamilnadu, India during the year 2021. The subject's age ranges from 18 to 25 years. The selected subjects were divided into two equal groups consists of 15 subjects each namely experimental group and control group. This study puts an effort to encounter the effect of SAQ (speed, agility and quickness) training on speed among Kho-Kho male players. To conclude the justification of the study thirty Kho-Khoplayers were preferred from Alagappa University College of Physical Education Karaikudi, Tamil Nadu, India. The subject's age ranges from 18 to 25 years. The selected subject was thencategorized into two identical groups comprise of 15 men students respectively namely experimental group and control group. The experimental group experience SAQ (speed, agility and quickness) training programme at morning time for seven weeks for one-hour i.e., 7.00am to 8.00am. In contrast, the control group did not contribute in any training during the course of study. Speedwas taken as criterion variable in this investigation. The nominated subjects were screened onSpeedand was measured through (50 mts dash) test. Pre-test was taken prior to the training period and post-test was measured straight awayfollowing the seven weeks training period. In this game a player need to have a good strength and endurance as they need to do move back and to move boat. So they use arms as well as back and leg also. If anyone saw that match that time they think rower having good muscles arms power but Rower use arms to push oars with full power or maintain the boat balance. For example most of the time people saw outside of the boat and they're thought the rowers pulling their oars from the water. But inside the boat player know what they are doing because same time doing so many works. They need to focus and full concentration as well as eye hand coordination with boat partner or oars. For rowers they need more power, strength, flexibility, stamina etc. This is a very fast game. Rowing boat goes back side of the players.

Plyometric training is most favoured physical conditioning among the sports persons to enhance the explosive strength, speed and power. Studies says that hypertension can be most common risk factor for cardiovascular diseases among elite players. So therefore, it is important to do regular physical activity to maintain the normal blood pressure. This study intensively checks out the effect of plyometric training on selected physiological parameters among male handball players. To accomplish the result of the study thirty male student from Alagappa University College of Physical Education were selected as a subject. The subjects age ranges from 18 to 25 years. The selected subjects were further categorized into two uniform group of fifteen each, namely Plyometric training group (Experiment group) and Control group. The experimental group were engaged in plyometric training at morning time for eleven weeks, 3 days per week for 1hours (Monday, Wednesday and Friday). On the other hand, control group preserve their daily routine activities and no such special training was given to them. Every single subject of two groups were tested on selected criterion variables namely systolic blood pressure (SBP) and diastolic blood pressure (DBP) which was measured by sphygmomanometer and breath holding time was taken by nose clip method. The data collected from the subjects was statistically analyzed with 't' test to find out significant improvement if any at 0.05 level of confidence which was observe as a relevant. The outcome of thisstudy manifest that there was significant difference among Plyometric training group and control group. Along with, Plyometric training group proclaim significant improvement on Systolic blood pressure, Diastolic blood pressure and Breathe holding time.
