"Race science" is often considered as a "pseudo-science" invented by Nazi ideologists in the 1920s and which has been imposed in German universities after 1933. By contrast, Kaiser Wilhelm Institutes were seen as elite research institutes in Germany, at a time Germany had still a leading position in medical sciences in the world. So what kind of research in "race science" was undertaken at the KWI for Anthropology, Human Genetics and Eugenics between 1933 and 1945? Here we present the main areas of research after analyzing the content of 385 publications of this period. Besides major fields such as biological anthropology / race genetics and medical genetics, we find other fields such as eugenics, blood group research and behavioral genetics, but we also discover totally forgotten research such as "fingerprint genetics" and "racial dactyloscopie", which were used for "certificate of race and origin".
