Process of Ready Mixed Concrete

Abstract

Ready mixed concrete (RMC) is one of the most important construction materials and it is produced by mixing fine and coarse aggregate, cement and water with or without adding chemical and mineral admixtures and in some cases fibers according to a pre-designed mixing formula and production technology. Concreting process starts with selection of materials which will form the concrete and determination of the mixture design to be used to obtain the concrete with the desired quality and properties. Then, process includes mix design, producing, transporting, placing, compacting, finishing and curing. Each of process has great importance to ensure the demanded requirements of ready mixed concrete during its service life. In this study, processes of RMC operations were discussed in detail.
