The project aims to develop and pilot an operating
model which can be used by companies to enhance their productivity by supporting the leadership of working capacity, workers’ health, physical abi lity and self-management skills.
There are four action points in the project: building the operating model, testing the operating model, follow up and
evaluation of the achieved impact, and communication.
The operating model (Working capacity and productivity -training) is a process, which includes measuring and analyzing the starting level of each individual and organization as well as training modules and communal developing process. The aim is to get permanent changes in the organizations.
With the help of the operating model it is able to achieve measurable impact on individuals, society and organizations. For example, physical health and activity as well as self-management skills have improved, knowledge on leadership affecting working capacity has increased and the organizations have new or improved methods to support the workers’.
In the long run these impacts support the productivity of the organizations, which is important for the both, the success of the company and workers’ careers.
The pilot companies in the project are SME’s in metal industry, where work is physically straining and workers typically middle aged or older.
The project is coordinated by Lahti University of Applied Sciences in cooperation with Salpaus Further Education and Päijät-Hämeen Liikunta ja Urheilu ry. ... [more]
