Abstract

Das US-Gesundheitssystem sieht sich mit gravierenden Veränderungen konfrontiert. Einige der von US-Präsident Obama angestoßenen Initiativen stehen unter keinem guten Stern. Dadurch werden interessante Ansätze aus dem Blick der Öffentlichkeit gedrängt. Hierzu gehört ein rund 30 Milliarden Dollar schweres Programm zur Förderung von Electronic Health Records in stationären und ambulanten Einrichtungen. Der hierbei verfolgte Ansatz – eine Kombination aus Anreizen und Sanktionen – ist spannend und geht weit über typische Subventionsprogramme hinaus. Für die Etablierung von Health IT in Deutschland lassen sich hieraus interessante Implikationen ableiten. Published in Führen und Wirtschaften im Krankenhaus
