V predkladanej publikácii prezentujeme konkrétne didaktické hry, vhodné na používanie na hodinách matematiky sekundárneho vzdelávania. Uvedené hry boli s pozitívnymi výsledkami testované v rámci projektu Efektívnosť vyučovania matematiky metódou didaktických hier (KEGA 074UK-4/2014). Dúfame, že ich používanie napomôže k zvýšeniu motivácie žiakov a zlepšeniu ich postojov k matematike.

Our article speaks about research on influence of didactical games on pupils' attitudes towards mathematics and its teaching. The aim of the research was to study how used didactical games influenced pupils' attitudes and knowledge from taught theme. Research was experimental, realized on the sample of 103 pupils, 11–12 years old. In the article we describe used didactical games, methodology of research and its results. Conclusions of the research are important for the use of the didactical games in teachers' practice.

The paper is about Games Based Learning in teaching of mathematics at lower secondary school. Our experience from using of didactical games and results from our previous researches on efficacy of teaching of mathematics with the method of didactical games are basis for our discussion about integration of games in the mathematics at lower secondary school and influences of these games on pupils' mathematical knowledge, their attitudes towards mathematics and process of its teaching and development of their key com- petencies. The output of this discussion is positive statement about increase of mathematics education quality by the integration of proper didactical games into mathematics lessons. The goal of our paper is then to present possibilities of Games Based Learning in teaching of mathematics at lower secondary school and to inspire teachers for including of proper didac- tical games into mathematics education.

This article analyses data coming from history, present and researches on didactical game as method of mathematics' education. In these analyses we inquire if mentioned data support our hypothesis about didactical game as effective way of mathematics' teaching.

Presents guidelines for developing and evaluating games in mathematics, including a concrete example--coordinate geometry taught by the Rubber Bones game--and its evaluation using (n=52) seventh graders. Guidelines for development include analysis of the concepts and the learner, nature of learning, enjoyability, integration, and evaluation. (48 references) (MKR)

This article reviews the literature that compares the instructional effectiveness of games to conventional classroom instruction. Studies dealing with empirical research rather than teachers'judgments are reviewed. Published reviews of research in English dating from 1963 to 1984 were examined and the literature was searched for studies from 1984 to 1991. Of the 67 studies considered over a period of 28 years, 38 show no difference between games and conventional instruction; 22 favor games; 5 favor games, but their controls are questionable; and 3 favor conventional instruction. Results for social sciences, math, language arts, logic physics, biology, retention over time, and interest are examined. Math is the subject area with the greatest percentage of results favoring games, but only eight studies have adequate controls. Thirty-three out of 46 social science games/simulations show no difference between games/simulations and classroom instruction. The authors conclude that subject matter areas where very specific content can be targeted are more likely to show beneficial effects for gaming.
