Abstract

Tinnitus is a defined as a noise that sounds like ringing in the ears. It has been reported to affect over 15% of the population. It is important to be clear that tinnitus is not a disease or health issue, it is simply a symptom of another underlying condition. Conditions associated with tinnitus include hearing loss, trauma to the ear, or a circulation issue. Most of the time, tinnitus is not associated with something terribly serious and it can improve with treatment of the actual cause of the problem.
