Publication in language and linguistics: Opportunities and challenges (keynote)

Abstract

This presentation discusses the different types of publication outlets available for language researchers and the advantages and disadvantages of each. More specifically, it details the requirements of publishing books, edited volumes, book chapters, journal articles, and conference proceedings. The challenges inherent in each is discussed along with their value toward professorial promotions. Ultimately, the presentation aims to help the audience make an informed decision about the most suitable publication outlets for their research.
