Performance of a High-Reduction Planetary Gear Drive with Respect to Efficiency

The friction forces were evaluated on the elastic-plastic model for oil film, proposed by Tevaarwerk. In addition, the experiment using the target small-sized CVT was conducted to measure its transmission efficiency. The experimental results revealed the main factors inducing power loss of the CVT through the comparison to the theoretical one described above. As a result, the power loss due to the spin was larger than that due to the sliding, and the optimum design reducing the spin was finally proposed.

Since each nonnegative continuous local martingale is a measure‐theoretic supermartingale, nonnegative simple capital processes are measure‐theoretic supermartingales.

By analysing the forces acting on an oar during the power stroke it is possible to estimate the mean velocity given to a racing shell. Use is made of oarlock force data, obtained experimentally by the Australian Institute of Sport, to obtain accurate predictions in the case of a racing pair.
