This research involves the theoretical aspects of R134a automobile air conditioning system. The main aim of the research is to evaluate the different alternative refrigerants as a drop in substitute of R134a theoretically. For this purpose, thermodynamic properties of different alternative refrigerants i.e. R290, R600a, R407C, R410A, R404A, R152a and R1234yf are compared to R134a. Thermodynamic evaluation of standard rating cycle of vapour compression refrigeration system is carried out. Engineering equation solver and refprop soft wares have been used for the thermodynamic analysis purpose. From thermodynamic analysis, it is derived that R1234yf is best suitable alternative refrigerants as a drop in substitute of R134a. R1234yf has lower coefficient of performance as compared to R134a; however it is best suitable alternative refrigerants as a drop in substitute because it has very low global warming potential and can be substituted in the existing automobile air conditioning system with minimum modification.

Main concern of today's era is green energy. Different methods of energy harvesting are introduced, which are free and environmental friendly. Thermoelectric material produces electric potential when temperature difference provide to its end. Pakistan has a solar irradiance of 2400 kWh/m 2 per year and temperature will rise up to 45° to 50° in many cities during summer. Use of air conditioner is now very common. Research analyzes energy extraction due to that temperature change from thermoelectric material based roof top in summer. Total average power generated through this method is studied. Research also determines the design and implementation of energy harvesting roof top.

Sanyo has been developing two types of residential solar-powered air conditioners. One is a unidirectional system, and the other is a bidirectional system. When using a 600 Wp photovoltaic (PV) array for the unidirectional system, the authors confirmed that the system can supply 50% of the power consumed by an air conditioner in summer. They also confirmed that the bidirectional system can feed surplus power back to the commercial power supply from the PV array, and can suppress the input current distortion of the air conditioner. There is little doubt that the introduction and widespread use of these systems will play an important role in reducing the peak power energy requirements in summer and the generation of carbon dioxide
