... [Show full abstract] five developed (USA, France, Italy, Denmark and Germany) countries. In addition, the daily intakes of the elements from formulae from developing and developed countries were estimated and compared. The results from this study indicated that the qualities, elemental compositions and their estimated daily intake from infant formulae obtained from developing countries compare well with those from the developed countries and within statutory safe limits. However, some essential elements, such as Se, Co, Cr and Mo, were not detected in most formulae from developing as well as from developed countries.
