Introduction
The libraries which are attached to Research and Development (R&D) organizations is called
special libraries, these serves specialized services to its specialized clients like scientist,
researchers, etc. The developments in the field of internet and web technologies enable libraries
to use web environment to provide their updated and new library services to its users. Internet
changed the role of libraries from traditional to electronic services. Today most of the peoples      
around the world using internet for their study, business, entertainment and communication etc.
Nowadays internet is become handy due to the smart phones era, now any one can access
internet through the smart phones and other gadgets. So in this era of internet organizations
understood the importance of website which is helpful to all and it reflect all the activities of the
organization. This is came into libraries also, most of the libraries have created their own library
website it works like a mirror to the library and it showcases its profile, activities, resources,
services,linkstovariouselectronicresourcesandotherthingsaboutthelibrary.
ReviewofLiterature
Prakash (2013) evaluated content of Central University Libraries Websites in India focusing on
the information like features of the library websites, links to other information sources, online
library services, and value added services and so on. Huizingh (2000) mentioned how little is
known about Website design and presented a framework consisting of two parts: design and

content. He used this framework to investigate how different groups of corporations use the
Web. McGillis and Toms (2001) and Battleson, Booth, and Weintrop (2001) reported on
usability studies of academic library Web sites. Kalra and Verma (2011) evaluated the library
websites of selected institutions in India both quantitatively and qualitatively and reveal that
there are many discrepancies and terminological issues and many effective techniques for
websites evaluation which are followed at international level but are not being used in such
studies in India. Vasishta (2013) studied the websites of technical university libraries to
determine that libraries are effectively utilizing their websites to provide trouble free access to
electronic journals available in the library. The study reveals that technical universities are trying
to set up useful library websites but the library websites of most of the institutes seem to be at
primal stage. Shukla, and Tripathi (2010) made a comparative study of 20 central universities
and institutes of national importance including IITs (Indian Institutes of Technology) and IIMs
(Indian Institutes of Management) academic libraries from India using a method to evaluate

Purpose This study aims to review the content of academic libraries’ websites with specific reference to the general information, services, information resources, features and functionalities, instructional tools to support teaching, learning and research for the patrons and users, and the visibility or activeness of the navigational tools on the websites. Design/methodology/approach The study focused on six categories of tertiary institutions: public universities, technical universities, chartered private universities, university colleges, colleges of education and nursing and midwifery schools. From each category, the researchers purposively selected five different institutions with library websites. Thus, 30 library websites were reviewed and analyzed for this study. Findings The review disclosed a generally low content and information on the websites in terms of the availability of information resources and collections; the types of services available at the libraries via the websites; the features and functionalities of the websites; the instructional tools to support teaching, learning and research for the patrons and users; and the visibility or activeness of the navigational tools on the websites. Despite this, the public universities displayed more and above average information, services, information resources, instructional tools and navigational tools on their library websites, followed by the technical universities, chartered private universities and university colleges. Conversely, the colleges of education and nursing and midwifery schools were to a large extent unable to provide information relating to electronic resources, instructional tools and navigational tools. Research limitations/implications The study was limited to 30 library websites from all six categories of tertiary institutions in Ghana. From the study, the management of the universities and the libraries must appreciate the significant role of websites in providing information and resources in support of teaching, research and learning at the institutions. In this regard, they need to provide the necessary support and resources for the effective deployment and operationalization of websites. Originality/value To the best of the author’s knowledge, this study is the first of its kind as no study seeks to provide a comprehensive analysis of the content of academic libraries’ websites with specific reference to the general information, services, information resources, features, functionalities, instructional tools to support teaching, learning and research for the patrons and users, and the visibility or activeness of the navigational tools on the websites.

The study assesses ten select library websites from colleges affiliated with JNTU, Hydera-bad, for their usability, correctness, and accessibility. Additionally, it discusses the features and services offered by websites. A well-organized checklist was used to collect data from the study's selected colleges. According to the survey, the majority of colleges have included information about their services (80%) and infrastructure (80%) on their websites, and all libraries of selected colleges have incorporated details about their introduction (100%) collection (100%), and statistics (100%). However, the report did point out that none of the library websites or web pages have a section for people with disabilities, a user manual, a single window search, an Ask a librarian link, newspaper clippings, remote access, interlibrary loan (ILL)/document delivery, social networking facilities, or regular updates. They also fall short in terms of accessibility. The study's findings indicate that Sultanul Uloom College of Pharmacy and Shadan Wom-an's College of Pharmacy received the lowest score of six (06) out of forty-three (43) and are currently ranked last, while the library at Aurora's Scientific, Technological and Re-search Academy had the highest score of twenty-two (22) out of forty-three (43), and is currently ranked first. The paper offers suggestions for carrying out these assessment studies, which are critically required to allow organization to continually update their website and deliver better results in terms of user requirement.

Research data management (RDM) poses a significant challenge for academic organizations. The creation of library research data services (RDS) requires assessment of their maturity, i.e., the primary objective of this study. Its authors have set out to probe the nationwide level of library RDS maturity, based on the RDS maturity model, as proposed by Cox et al. (2019), while making use of natural language processing (NLP) tools, typical for big data analysis. The secondary objective consisted in determining the actual suitability of the above-referenced tools for this particular type of assessment. Web scraping, based on 72 keywords, and completed twice, allowed the authors to select from the list of 320 libraries that run RDS, i.e., 38 (2021) and 42 (2022), respectively. The content of the websites run by the academic libraries offering a scope of RDM services was then appraised in some depth. The findings allowed the authors to identify the geographical distribution of RDS (academic centers of various sizes), a scope of activities undertaken in the area of research data (divided into three clusters, i.e., compliance, stewardship, and transformation), and overall potential for their prospective enhancement. Although the present study was carried within a single country only (Poland), its protocol may easily be adapted for use in any other countries, with a view to making a viable comparison of pertinent findings.

Libraries are establishing websites to deliver information to their patrons. The purpose of this paper is to assess the top ten medical institute library websites, as determined by the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF), for the year 2020. The checklist-based observation method has been adopted for the study. The checklist is categorized into five major categories: general information about the library, library's printed collection, library's e-resources, library's services, and library’s sections. At the end of this study, some recommendations are being provided for improving websites. The information is gathered from only eight medical institute’s library websites because two of them were down at the time of data collection. According to the findings, AIIMS library websites publish the most content (67.08%) through their websites. CMC library websites came in second with 56.96%, KMCM came in third with 43.03%, and so on. Among the ten library websites, SGPGI (17.72 %) has the lowest rating. This study reveals that there is no uniformity among all of the examined library websites. It is suggested that some ground rules for website creation and content publication must be established.

Purpose – As electronic journals are developing as a new information platform, their promotional activities require something more than just notifications. Promotion is the decisive factor in the effective use of a sophisticated service called electronic journal. Library websites act as a best promotional medium to spread awareness about electronic journals and to act as a gateway to provide a customized interface for enhanced navigation and ease of access. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the websites of technical university libraries to ascertain that libraries are effectively utilizing their respective websites to provide trouble‐free access to electronic journals available in the library. Design/methodology/approach – For the purpose of this study, a research instrument in the form of comprehensive checklist was developed to evaluate the accessibility of electronic journals from the websites of technical university libraries. Findings – The research reveals that technical university libraries are trying to set up useful websites but the library websites of most of the institutes seem to be at primitive stage. Majority of libraries' websites have very simple and basic features. Overall, they fall short of their potential to act as a platform for proper dissemination of electronic journals. There is enormous scope for the improvement of the websites of the institutions under study. A few recommendations were made for the improvement of these websites in the form of enhancement in various aspects like quality content, users' convenience and artistic composition. Originality/value – The portal technology has enabled libraries to provide the user with an interface from where information of high relevance can be accessed with ease. The article suggests that websites of technical university libraries can incorporate a lot more information to enhance the utilization of electronic journals. It is time for librarians to feel their responsibility as web content managers and be more conscientious in providing the information on the library websites keeping in view the information requirements of the users. If the library website has a dedicated webpage for providing information exclusively for electronic journals, it will be easy for users to have a single access point for accessing all the electronic journals provided by the various publishers. This paper will be helpful to librarians who are planning to strategically develop their websites.

This study develops and tests an instrument useful for evaluating the quality of academic libraries on the World Wide Web (Libweb). By consulting authoritative criteria used for traditional print resources and Internet/Web resources, a set of 68 essential indicators was generated and later reorganized and reduced to 16 criteria through factor analysis. After a survey of library experts, the instrument's reliability was verified by analysis of variance. Furthermore, a regression model considering both the respondents' demographics and the quality criteria was applied to identify 11 significant factors, which were later reduced to eight factors. These eight factors represent the most salient and nonredundant criteria. Two instrument forms are suggested for prospective users to evaluate academic Libweb quality and to construct and maintain a good site.
