CAD/CAM system for plastic injection mold manufacturing

Abstract

Abstract—Popular CAD/CAM systems which are used in industries by manufacturers, have been proposed in this paper to optimize the time and cost of design, engineering and manufacturing of a plastic injection mold. It covers the plastic molding and other related industries to compare and discuss about the advantages and disadvantages of each system/software. Also, in conclusion the necessary equipments to run the software, and how to find the effective way to obtain the required machines which are useful in this industry has been prepared. CATIA, Pro/Engineer and Unigraphics NX are three software which are found as effective software in this paper.
