1 INTRODUCTION
In today's world of globalization, creativity is an
important element in development and it is a basic
capital in building a better quality of human resources
in a country (Bereczki, 2016; Cheung, 2016). The
term creativity is very difficult to define because
creativity is a multidimensional concept so that many
experts are advocating the meaning of creativity
(Turpin, Matthee, and Kruger, 2015). The difference
in the definition of creativity put forward by experts
is a complementary definition, but the term that is
often used in the world of education that creativity
can be interpreted as a person's ability to create
something new both in concepts or real work
(Cheung, 2016; Rasmussen and Østergaard, 2016).
Creativity is the result of the process of interaction
between individuals and their environment. A person
can be influenced by the environment in which he is
located. It means, the creativity that is owned by a
person can develop depending on the environment he
is in. Student creativity can grow and develop well, if
family environment, society, especially school
environment also support them in expressing their
creativity (Zimmerman, 2009). Related to the
explanation, then one of the efforts to bridge the
development of student creativity is through learning
physical education in the school environment
(Cheung, 2010). But unfortunately, research on
creativity is still rarely done in the world of education,
especially physical education (Konstantinidou,
Michalopoulou, Agelousis, and Kourtesis, 2013).
There is a learning model that is expected to be
able to increase the creativity that is owned by
students is by applying problem based learning
model. Because problem based learning is a learning
model, where physical education teachers provide a
problem and give students the freedom to learn to
solve problems and find solutions to the problem
independently (Bethell and Morgan, 2011). Thus, it
can be concluded that in addition to external factors
that is by applying the model of problem based
learning into learning physical education is able to
facilitate students to improve their creativity (Awang
and Ramly, 2008; Folly Eldy and Sulaiman, 2013).
Nevertheless it cannot be denied that the quality of
adversity quotient students themselves in the face of
a problem is an internal factor is crucial to the
development of a creativity. The role of adversity
quotient in physical education is to help students not
to give up easily and not easily despair of the learning
problems they face. Adversity quotient can be
interpreted as the intelligence of a person in the face

of difficulties or problems and help students to
increase the potential within him that includes various
components such as performance, motivation,
empowerment, creativity, productivity (Parvathy and
Praseeda, 2014). The better the adversity quotient the
student has, the higher the creativity or the better the
student is able to give a good response and able to
survive in overcoming a difficulty, the higher the
spirit of creation (Zhi-hsien, 2014).
According to the problems that have been
described above, the purpose of this research is to
develop students' creativity through the application of
problem based learning model in physical education
in review of adversity quotient. Some of the questions
to be answered through this research are:
Is there a difference of creativity between
students given learning of problem-based
learning model and group of students who are
given direct instruction model?
Is there any difference of creativity between
students who are given problem-based learning
model and direct instruction model in groups of
students who have high adversity quotient
ability?
Is there any difference of creativity between
students who are given problem-based learning
model and direct instruction model in groups of
students who have low adversity quotient
ability?
Is there an interaction of the model of learning
and adversity quotient on student creativity?
Based on the analysis of previous research
showed no one ever to study and try to apply problem
based learning model and adversity quotient in an
effort to develop students' creativity in physical
education.
2 METHODS
2.1 Participants
This research will be conducted at SMK 1 Cipanas
Cianjur. The population used was 10th grade student
at SMK 1 Cipanas, Cianjur Regency in the academic
year of 2016-2017 consisting of 10th grade of 8
classes with details: X agri business processing of
agricultural products 1 and 2, X online business and
marketing 1 and 2, X computer network engineering
1 and 2, X light vehicle engineering 1 and 2, the total
totals are 375 students. Sampling using cluster
random sampling technique. The sample in this study
were 60 students, consisting of 30 students who have
high AQ and 30 students who have low AQ.
2.2 Procedures
The research method used is experimental method
with 2x2 factorial designs. The study was conducted
for 5 weeks, while the learning was done 14 times as
a whole, With details for the treatment of 12 meetings
and 2 times that is one to perform the pretest and one
to perform the posttest, with frequency 3 times a
week, the treatment was given to the experimental
group using problem based learning model, while in
the control group using direct instruction model.
The instrument used is a questionnaire to measure
the level of adversity quotient theory proposed by
Stolz (2000) and the theoretical creativity put forward
by Guilford (1950). This instrument is not known
with certainty to have the validity and reliability of
how much, therefore the authors will re-examine this
instrument to find validity and reliability upon high
school students of class X computer network
engineering and X light vehicle engineering in SMK
1 Cipanas Cianjur. Data analysis using SPSS version
17.
3 RESULTS AND DISCUSSION
The main purpose of this research is to find out
whether learning model and lean model based
learning model can be used to facilitate the
development of students' creativity in physical
education. Overall the results of this study show that
there is a difference between PBL and DI model, and
PBL model is more suitable applied to high AQ
students, whereas DI model is more suitable applied
to low AQ students. Further data show there is
interaction of learning model and AQ to creativity.
In relation to the results of previous research
conducted by Temel (2014) showed that the design of
pre-test-post-test control group, PBL has no
significant effect. PBL and DI do not have a different
effect on the disposition of critical thinking of
teachers and have different effects on perceptions in
problem-solving abilities. Based on the results of
research Temel above is different from the results of
research that the authors do, where the results show
that the PBL model is better than DI to improve
student creativity (Chen, 2013).
4 CONCLUSIONS
The implication is that when a teacher wants to
increase the creativity possessed by students, then one

solution is to apply problem based learning model in
the process of physical education. This is in
accordance with the results of the study showed that
problem based learning model has more effective
impact and can be applied by physical education
teachers in an effort to develop student creativity.
Based on these conclusions the authors suggest to
further researchers to complement the existing
limitations in this study that is when the PBL model
applied to low AQ group data results showed the
creativity of students experienced a significant
reduction.

... The achievement goal level is also thought to have relevance to other psychological factors, namely the adversity quotient that is defined as intelligence in facing difficulties, obstacles or problems (Matore, Rahman, Idris, Khairani, & Al Hapiz, 2020) in the PE learning process. Adversity quotient helps students to increase their potential that includes various components such as performance, motivation, self-confidence, self-direction, fighting spirit, creativity, productivity (Setiawan, Juliantine, Komarudin, 2017). Previous studies showed that the adversity quotient dimension has many positive results in its relevance to student academic performance and productivity in educational institutions (de Ridder, Lensvelt-Mulders, Finkenauer, Stok, & Baumeister, 2012;Duckworth, Quinn, & Tsukayama, 2013). ...
... The instrument for measuring the adversity quotient aspect of students is by using the Adversity Quotient Questionnaire (AQQ) with 4 indicators, namely Control, Origin and Ownership, Reach, Endurance and ten questions (Setiawan et al., 2017). To answer this instrument, you may use a Likert scale starting achievement goal in students can use the Achievement Goal Questionnaire (AGQ) from Elliot & Church that consists of three indicators, namely mastery, performance approach and performance avoidance. ...

Psychology is one of the potential factors to be successful in physical education learning at universities. However, it is still unknown that among self-esteem, adversity quotient, and self-handicapping has more correlation with achievement goals. This quantitative correlational study aims to investigate the correlation among self-esteem, adversity quotient, self-handicapping, and achievement goals. The participants of this study were 80 female students. These student were in the third or fourth years of the participating universities. The instruments to collect the data were self-esteem, adversity quotient, self-handicapping, and achievement goal questionnaires. In statistical analysis, SPSS version 25 was used to find bivariate correlation and regression with a significance level of .05. The results show that self-esteem is positively correlated with adversity quotient, self-handicapping, and goal achievement. Then, the adversity quotient is positively correlated with self-handicapping and achievement goals. Meanwhile, self-handicapping has a negative correlation with achievement goals. To optimally achieve the goals in physical education classes, the aspects of self-esteem and adversity quotient should be correlated. However, self-esteem does not necessarily need to be correlated with self-handicapping. This study benefits the development of science, especially the field of psychology and physical education. The result of this study may be used to produce students with a high level of achievement goals in physical education learning at universities.

This study investigated the relationship between childhood experiences (positive or negative) and creativity and examined if adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) are moderated or mediated by resilience. Two creativity measures, The Inventory of Creative Activities and Achievements (ICAA) and two verbal Alternate Uses Test (AUT) items, were used. Hypotheses were tested by hierarchical multiple regression analysis, where the dependent variable was creativity, and the predictor variables were ACE, BCE, and resilience (Step 2), which were added into the regression model after the demographic variables of age and gender (Step 1). ACE X resilience interaction effect was tested in the next step to test the moderation effect (Step 3). A separate path model tested the mediating effect of resilience between ACE and creativity. Overall, the results showed that the model in Step 2 was significant, and both ACE and resilience were significantly and positively associated with creativity as measured by ICAA whereas none predicted AUT performance. While ACE was negatively correlated with resilience, BCE was positively correlated with resilience and did not predict creativity. There was no support for mediating or moderating effect of resilience. Findings are discussed in terms of theories of creativity and human development.

In the past 20 years, creativity has increasingly been recognised as an important aspect of young people's education around the world. The global interest in creativity is fuelled by various economic and social considerations. One concern of the approach to creativity in education is the curriculum. The research reported in this paper aimed at identifying the curriculum-level enablers and barriers to nurturing creativity in Hungarian public education by investigating the place of creativity, as well as that of creative pedagogy, in the Hungarian National Core Curriculum (HNCC) using content analysis. Findings revealed that creativity and the components of creative pedagogy were recurring elements of the HNCC. In Arts and Mathematics, the high importance of creativity was also supported by the strong presence of the elements of creative pedagogy. The barriers identified include the lack of clear and consistent definitions of creativity, the varied incidences of creativity and components of creative pedagogy, with extremely low attention to nurturing creativity in Foreign languages, Man and nature (science), and The Earth – our environment (geography). It has been concluded, therefore, that a more coherent and consistent approach to creativity across the HNCC is required.

The development of problem solving skills is a shared goal in science, engineering, mathematics and technology education. In the applied sciences, problems are often open-ended and complex, requiring a multidisciplinary approach as well as new designs. In such cases, problem solving requires not only analytical capabilities, but also creativity and the ability to innovate. The development of an information system entails problem solving by means of design, hence creativity is integral to the task of an information systems (IS) professional. However, it appears that the teaching of creativity in IS programmes is under-researched and possibly neglected. This study investigates what is being done to foster creative ability of South African undergraduate IS students. At the same time, a theoretical framework for creativity teaching is developed. We find that the fostering of creative ability involves more than just the teaching of creativity techniques, and that creativity can be indirectly nurtured in multiple ways.

The last two decades, researchers explored teachers’ implicit theories, perceptions or beliefs about creativity related issues, as they thought they are complimentary to researchers’ explicit theories. Although implicit theories’ studies recruited mostly K-12 participants, a research gap was noticed in literature concerning this kind of research in specific domains of knowledge or school subjects. Taking into account a trend in Europe for the promotion of creativity in primary physical education (PE), the present study is the first one that focused on physical educators’ (PEds) perceptions about creativity related issues. The PAC (Perceptions about Creativity) questionnaire was developed to explore PEds’ perceptions on four well-documented aspects of creativity: a) the characteristics of creative student, b) students’ creative outcomes, c) the nature of creativity and d) the creativity fostering and inhibiting classroom environment. The present paper discusses the findings from the two former aspects of creativity. Concerning the characteristics of the creative student, PEds were often held inconsistent perceptions, even conflicting ones with regard to researchers’ explicit theories and other teachers’ perceptions. Key words: creativity, teachers, implicit theories, perceptions, beliefs, creative student, creative product

Creativity is essential in soccer due to the unpredictable and complex situations occurring in the game, where stereotypical play gradually loses its efficiency. Further, creativity is an important psychological factor for the development of soccer expertise, and valuing creativity increases satisfaction and well-being. Although creative players are highly desired by coaches, the subject of cultivating creativity is mostly ignored and traditional training settings may even hamper the players' creativity. The purpose of this article is to introduce a novel approach for enhancing soccer players' creativity, The Creative Soccer Platform (TCSP), and to demonstrate the implications of applying it in youth soccer practice, by means of soccer-specific creativity exercises. TCSP encompasses four theoretically based didactic principles (task focus, parallel thinking, horizontal thinking, and no experienced judgment), shown to increase creativity in educational settings. Creativity is defined as unlimited application of bodily-kinesthetic knowledge, which refers to players not being limited by professional, social and cultural constraints in soccer. Analysis of qualitative data obtained during three training sessions where TSCP was implemented at a youth team indicate that the application of TCSP exercises establishes a playful, judgment-free and autonomy-supportive training environment, where soccer players are able to unfold their creative potential. The creative environment helped the youth players in the intervention engage in unfamiliar activities that they did not dare to do in normal training sessions (i.e., performed difficult, new and playful technical skills), which developed creative abilities important for game performance (i.e., idea generation abilities and not fearing mistakes).

The purpose of this qualitative study was to explore how teachers deal with a pedagogical framework developed in the West which aimed at supporting Chinese teachers’ creativity-fostering pedagogy and the impacts of the framework in regard to teachers’ pedagogical practice. Three Chinese preschool teachers were followed for six months. Interviews, observations and reflective notes were used as data sources. Findings revealed that the framework demonstrates the potential for advancing teachers’ understanding of creative practice and developing competencies in using creativity-fostering pedagogy, although this was in teacher-directed activity. Each teacher benefited from the study according to her individual situation and teaching approach. Changes in teachers’ perception and pedagogical practice were evident which highlight that teachers’ pedagogical practice is not predetermined or stable, but open to change and development. This study suggests the Western views of creative pedagogy can be adapted to the Chinese context. Creative practice is complex, changing and developmental, and the findings of this study aim to provoke discussion on the cultural appropriateness of creative pedagogy and suggest implications for future research, practice and practitioner research in other educational contexts.

Problem-based learning (PBL) is one of the student centered approaches and has been considered by a number of higher educational institutions in many parts of the world as a method of delivery. This paper presents a creative thinking approach for implementing Problem-based Learning in Mechanics of Structure within a Malaysian Polytechnics environment. In the learning process, students learn how to analyze the problem given among the students and sharing classroom knowledge into practice. Further, through this course's emphasis on problem-based learning, students acquire creative thinking skills and professional skills as they tackle complex, interdisciplinary and real-situation problems. Once the creative ideas are generated, there are useful additional techniques for tender ideas that will grow into a productive concept or solution. The combination of creative skills and technical abilities will enable the students to be ready to "hit-the-ground-running" and produce in industry when they graduate.
