Deposits obtained by the electrolles method are mainly used in applications requiring significantly improved features, the most important being: the thickness uniformity, hardness, high wear resistance and corrosion resistance. The thickness of the layer ranges between 10-30μm, depending on the operating conditions. The paper aims to analyze how the main parameters of the electrolles coating
... [Show full abstract] process influencing the Ni-P layer thickness. Ni-P layer deposition was performed on samples of thin band of low carbon steel. In laboratory experiments were studied two nickel plating bath with different chemical compositions. We studied the influence on the layer thickness of the following factors: pH, temperature, duration of the coating process and the speed of stirring. For each factor has been set an interval of variation. The layers were analyzed by optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and energy dispersive Xray analysis (EDX). Researches has led in setting optimal process parameters to obtain a uniform and compact coatings.
