An overview of the research at the crossroads of corpus linguistics and language education

Authors:

Abstract

In this talk I’ll review the evolution of learner corpus research from the early days of CIA to what I call here an increased criticality stage where research methods and the very ontology of the field is re-examined. I argue that we need a more profound understanding of the role of research methods in corpus linguistics and the extent to which they shape and, sometimes, limit our inquiry into learner language.
