Abstract
This paper summarizes the classification, development history and performance requirements of brake pads. The influence factors of their performance requirements are briefly analyzed. And the current performance improvement progress of various kinds of brake pads is also introduced. The research trends of new green materials and economical brake pads with improved comfort properties are expected, which can also ensure the good braking, anti-declining and recovering performance.
