Abstract
Joe Abercrombie's Red Country, Drood by Dan Simmons, Pierre Pevel's Les Lames du cardinal and The Way of Shadows written by Brent Weeks are the examples of fantasy novels used to show the function of intertextuality and intercultural relations in the translation of fantasy texts, with the fantasy worlds constituting a separate culture, which must be respected by the translator.
