Fault Tolerance Techniques in Distributed Systems: Review
In Distributed Systems, the number of nodes are interconnected with each other in a particular fashion. Each node is aware of its neighboring peers and it needs to learn the topology of the entire network. In distributed systems, many resources are shared, such as data, memory, software applications and other hardware devices. One of the fundamental challenges, which are unique to the distrusted systems, is fault tolerance. Some of the problems related to fault-tolerance are consensus problem, Byzantine fault tolerance and self-stabilization. If any node becomes faulty then the performance of the network is suffered in the form of low throughput, high message latency, low bandwidth.
