[Show full abstract] sociolinguistic research,has focused,on informal narratives recounted,in conversational,contexts and focusing predominantly,around,domestic,events,or adventure,escapades.,There is very little sociolinguistic research,examining,how narratives contribute to the construction,of socialidentity in the workplace. The data used in previous research,into workplace,narratives has typically been elicited through,interviews. The Wellington Language in the Workplace,(LWP) Project provides a different kind of data, namely, the stories people tell at work in the course
