Analysis on Quench Velocity of SFCL dependent on Source Voltage

We investigated the quench velocity of superconducting fault current limiter (SFCL) dependent on the source voltage. YBa_2Cu_3O_7 (YBCO) thin film was used as the current limiting element for SFCL. The analysis on the quench velocity of SFCL is essential to determine the capacity of circuit breaker (CB) or coordinate with CB. Generally, the quench velocity of SFCL is related with the ... [Show full abstract] short-circuit current. To change the short-circuit current, in this paper, the amplitude of the power source voltage is adjusted. Through the fault current limiting experiments, the quench velocity of SFCL was confirmed to increase fast as the source voltage increased. On the other hand, the peak limited current was shown to increase with steady rate of increase.

Impedance-matching balance transformer has been used widely in traction power system. It is difficult to measure the ratio braking characteristic curve on differential protection of this transformer. This paper presents a method for the curve measuring with the three-phase current power supply of protective testing instrument. Meanwhile, the experiments prove its effectiveness.

A parallel cascode class A&B power amplifier with optimized widths is proposed to increase linearity and efficiency simultaneously. A novel interleaved PCT power combiner is proposed for increasing output power that combines output current of two similar ... [Show full abstract] class A&B power amplifiers. Proposed interleaved transformer heightens coupling factor compared to typical transformer. The proposed power amplifier with 3.3 V power supply provides maximum output power of 32.5 dBm and power added efficiency of 37.9% at 2.4 GHz operating frequency. The proposed power amplifier exhibits high output power of 32.3 dBm at 1 dB compression point. The simulation results for proposed PA with modulated OFDM signal show that −31 dB error vector magnitude at the average power of 25 dBm can be achieved.

[Show full abstract] auxiliary cascode stage, thermal noise can be cancelled, realizing adequate noise figure (NF) and relatively flat gain over wide-band. Measurement results show small signal gain of 14.3 dB and a 3-dB bandwidth more than 3 GHz. Measured NF is below 3.7 dB over 1.5 GHz of bandwidth, while consuming 32.3 mW from a 1.7-V power supply. The die area of core amplifier is only 0.35 mm 0.12 mm.

A 2 GHz variable gain low noise amplifier in 0.18-μm CMOS

This paper describes a 2 GHz active variable gain low noise amplifier (VGLNA) in a 0.18-μm CMOS process. The VGLNA provides a 50-Ω input impedance and utilizes a tuned load to provide high selectivity.
