Community Involvement and the Three Levels of Interpretation Standards

Authors:

Abstract

Traditionally, interpretive standards have focused on only skills and aptitudes of individual interpreters. Nevertheless the interpretation field cites objectives not just on the individual level, but also team and community levels. Therefore standards should include all three levels to properly assess if interpretation meets professional standards. The example of community involvement is discussed in Mexico as a topic that crosses all three levels.
