The authors analyze data presented in literature and on the Internet with the aim of discovering factors making ISIS attractive for young people from different countries, including Russia. They identify social psychological factors which make the organization attractive, such as hatred for the West, for the western way of life and its main vices; lack of life meaning and the need to find it, romantic motivation, influence of friends and family, aggression and inclination to violence, desire to start a new life, suicidal motives, etc. The authors also look into ways of resisting the influence of ISIS.
