Increasing resilience by engaging infrastructure interdependencies in urban water systems

Authors:

Abstract

In this poster we consider the trajectory of changes to climate, customer usage, digitalisation of technology and urbanisation to explore the future challenges that these are likely to bring to water and wastewater infrastructure. We also will review both the potential risks and vulnerabilities affecting water and wastewater infrastructure to establish areas for future research, development and prioritised investment. Finally, we examine how increased engagement between all forms of critical infrastructure and the wider supply chain can be key to meeting these priorities, delivering potential efficiencies and the types of metrics we can utilise to measure and evidence these benefits.
