Abstract

Augustus Hopkins Strong was one of the most influential Baptist theologians of the 20th century. His early theological formation was shaped by the New Divinity School at Yale University, where he completed his undergraduate degree in 1857. The bright young graduate pursued his seminary work at Rochester Theological Seminary, where he later served so effectively as professor and president from 1871 to 1911.
