Paludisme gestationnel et co-infections parasitaires dans le Littoral du Cameroun/Pregnancy Associated Malaria and parasitic co-infections in the Littoral of Cameroon

Le paludisme gestationnel affecte chaque année 25 millions de femmes enceintes en Afrique sub-saharienne, mettant à chaque fois au moins 2 vies en péril. Dans notre contexte où l’infection au VIH, les géohelminthiases et schistosomiases sont endémiques, les co-infections peuvent exacerber les effets du paludisme. Cette étude vise à décrire l’épidémiologie du paludisme gestationnel et l’impact des stratégies de prévention dans la région du Littoral, évaluer l’effet des co-infections parasitaires sur la mère et le fœtus et faire un état des lieux des connaissances, attitudes et pratiques (CAP) des femmes enceintes en rapport avec le paludisme. Pregnancy Associated Malaria affects 25 million pregnant women every year in sub-Saharan Africa, endangering at least two lives. In our context where HIV infection, Soil Transmitted Helminths and schistosomiasis are endemic, co-infections can exacerbate the effects of malaria. This study aims to describe the epidemiology of gestational malaria and the impact of prevention strategies in the Littoral region, assess the effect of parasitic co-infections on the mother and the fetus and make an inventory of knowledge, attitudes And practices (CAP) of pregnant women related to malaria. ...
