Abstract

A Clinical ,early phase II, open essay was peaformed with the aim of evaluating the effectiveness of the acupunctural treatment according to German teeth microsystem in affections of the osteomyoarticular system (OMAS). The study universe was composed of patients remitted from the orthopedic service to the Natural and Tradicional Medicine Departament at "Rodolfo Ramírez Esquivel" Polyclinic of Camagüey municipality, in which a general odontologist carried out the German hologram of teeth, 90 patients, out of all examined, were taken as a sample, who fulfill all requeriments of inclusion and exclusion and gave their informed consent. The study was done from June to December, 2002, The information was processed in a compatible IBM computer through Microstat SPSS statistic system for Windows, it was applied descriptive static, frequency distribution and contingence tables. The more representative ages were from 55 to 60 years, femenine sex prevailed and the most frequent affections: sacrolumbalgias and cervicoobrachialgias. The first was the disease whicg had a rapid and positive reaction to acupuntural treatment and with less quantity of points to stimulate. To evaluate the stomatological treatment effectiveness with the use of teeth microsystem in the remission of the acute lumbar pain, a late stage II therapeutic clinical trial was performed at «Ismael Clark y Mascaró « Provincial Teaching Odontology Clinic from June 2004 to February 2006. The size of the sample was constituted by 64 patients conformed in two homogenous groups: control (acupuncture treatment) and study (acupuncture and stomatological treatment) with 32 patients each. The clinical stomatological and radiological examination in both groups at the beginning of the study was evaluated and dental caries, periodontal diseases and amalgam fillings responsible for the intensity of pain and functional impotence were the oral problems with more incidence was concluded. The definitive structural basis for the low resistance property of acupuncture points and meridians is not yet known. Available evidence suggests that it probably resides in the epidermis. Investigation carried out in mice and rabbits in this study revealed that the epidermis at low resistance points was characterized by a high incidence of gap junctions. This fact, together with the result of an in vitro study which demonstrated that the skin conductance was reduced by lowering the external calcium concentration or the addition of 2,4-dinitrophenol (DNP), suggest that the gap junction may be responsible for the variation in the skin conductance.

Homeopathy and acupuncture acknowledge the importance of energy fields in living organisms. Electrodiagnosis, first introduced by Dr. Voll (EAV) more than 30 years ago serves as a bridge that connects these two important schools of thought in the new medical paradigm, bioenergetic medicine, that is presently emerging in the Western hemisphere. Present research in quantum mechanics is revealing a totally different view of life when examined on the subatomic level. A brief review of the history of quantum physics is presented. Some thoughts on 'how' and 'why' homeopathy, acupuncture and electrodiagnosis work are presented by a practicing allopathic physician who has successfully treated a variety of illnesses using bioenergetic modalities. Several case histories are included.

To prove the importance of electroacupunture treatment, a descriptive and prospective study of 60 patients with chronic cervical pain, who had been cared for in the 3 health care areas of Tercer Frente municipality in Santiago de Cuba, was performed from January to July 1997. The two groups-study and control-were made up of 30 patients each, the former being treated with electroacupunture and the latter with normal massage therapy (moxa). The study group had a significant remission in less time which increased the level of independence of patients when carrying out daily activities, reduced or eliminated drug use and improved their general disposition and working capacity.

The article deals with the development of a technique for the treatment of neurodystrophic syndromes of cervical osteochondrosis precluding the use of pharmacologic drugs. The technique involving microacupuncture, originally designed manual therapeutic techniques and corporal acupuncture was applied to 87 patients with neurodystrophic syndromes of cervical osteochondrosis including patients with brachioclavicular periarthrosis, brachial epicondylitis, styloiditis. The technique made it possible to obtain a therapeutic effect 1.5 to 2 times faster than using the conventional methods in these groups of patients.

The attacks of bacterial asthma in 100 patients were treated by standard acupuncture, microacupuncture and by combined use of the modalities. The comparative analysis revealed the highest efficiency for the combined treatment, the less for microacupuncture. The disease of moderate severity, light severity and that free of attacks should be treated, as the authors believe, with acupuncture plus microacupuncture, standard acupuncture, and microacupuncture, respectively.

The central and peripheral hemodynamics was examined in patients with the radicular syndrome of lumbar osteochondrosis who were treated by reflexotherapy methods. In addition to the direct favourable effect of microacupuncture and classical acupuncture on the circulatory system a longer duration of the positive effect of microacupuncture was revealed. An interconnection between the favourable changes of the patient's state and the improvement of the systemic and local circulation was noted.

In accordance with Professor Gleditsch's chinese doctrines the mouth cavity and it's surrounding areas are ensnared with energetic channels. The appropriate knowledge of meridian points is a decisive factor in making diagnoses of mouth cavity processes. There is an increasing responsibility of persons working around mouth cavity in recognising and correctly interpreting the connections between the mucous membrane processes and other remote organs and organ systems.

Auricular acupuncture is a treatment system based on normalizing the body's pain and dysfunction through stimulation of points on the ear. Resulting amelioration of pain and illness is believed to be through the reticular formation through the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems. Scalp acupuncture is one of the newest systems of microacupuncture therapy and anesthesia developed in the People's Republic of China; here the needle is inserted and stimulated in the areas directly above the corresponding nerve center. Hand acupuncture is a recently developed type of microreflex system that can be used exclusively or in addition to body acupuncture. Hand acupuncture is indicated to treat all ailments for which acupuncture is traditionally recommended.
